OUR STORY

The Nordeus Foundation was founded in early April 2021. The formation of the organization and the gathering of a team that will be fully dedicated to supporting the education of children and youth in Serbia comes as the culmination of Nordeus’ decade of support for its community.

As the company grew and matured, so did its contribution. Since its founding, Nordeus has been investing in projects to support children in the early stages of life so that every child has a better start in life and a chance to reach their full potential. Some of these projects are:

The Battle for Babies campaign, through which neonatal wards throughout Serbia were equipped with the necessary equipment for the complete care of newborn babies.

UNICEF Serbia’s “Best Start for Every Child” project, through which development counseling centers in health centers have been opened with the aim of early assessment and encouraging different skills in children and supporting parents so that they can best help their children.

Cooperation with UNICEF Serbia on creating a Halobeba mobile application that helps parents with the most important issues and concerns in the earliest stages of their children’s development. The application represents the modernization of the Halo Baby telephone service, which makes this large base of knowledge and experience more accessible to parents throughout Serbia. It has recently been further improved, and launched under the name Bebbo in 11 countries and territories, in 19 language variants.

In addition to large projects, the company and its employees have carried out numerous support actions – from financial, donor, sports to educational. Many initiatives come from people who want to contribute to solving problems or be an inspiration to others in order to achieve as much as possible together. Nordeus has invested more than a million dollars over the past 10 years to support the youngest and their parents.

In order for us as a society to have the best possible chances for success, it is important to support the progress of the ecosystem that will be able to welcome young people in the future and keep them in our country.

In 2017, with the strategic goal of developing a strong and globally competitive digital economy, as well as supporting new generations in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution, Nordeus was one of the founders of the Digital Serbia Initiative (DSI). Today, this non-profit organization consists of a large number of member organizations and companies from various sectors relevant to the growth of our digital ecosystem. One of the key focuses is investing in formal and non-formal education.

Just a year later, along with seven other gaming companies, Nordeus founded the Serbian Association of the Video Game Industry (SGA), a non-profit organization focused on developing the national video game industry. The emphasis is not only on supporting members, but also on developing the talent and creativity of people from this sector, educational institutions and the ecosystem as a whole.

Both organizations were founded with the vision of improving the quality of life and work in Serbia, but also the impact on the development of interdisciplinary learning and algorithmic thinking in our educational system, through projects such as Master 4.0, the introduction of specialized IT departments in secondary schools and programming in primary schools.

On the shoulders of these results, partner networks, and with the desire to achieve even more for children, youth and our entire community, the Nordeus Foundation is coming as the logical next step. The founders of Nordeus also founded the Nordeus Foundation, blowing wind at its back by forming an independent team and an initial investment of 3 million dollars to support education in Serbia.
